Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to Victoria Avenue Public School. We are very excited for you to join our school community.

On Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 February we will commence our Best Start Interviews. Best Start Interviews help teachers to identify each student’s literacy and numeracy skills on entry to Kindergarten which then support the teaching and learning programs within the classroom. Students do not need to prepare for this interview. These interviews will run for 40 minutes and families are asked to wait outside the front of the school office for a teacher to call the students name at their booked time. Students will then have the interview one on one with a teacher. Due to COVID restrictions we kindly ask parents to wait outside the school office and maintain COVID safe practises.

We welcome all Kindergarten students for their first full day of school on Thursday 3 February. Students and families are to arrive via the oval entry where you will be greeted by teachers. We ask that parents kindly say goodbye to their child quickly to allow teachers to support students to the classroom for their first day. 

Due to current COVID restrictions, school dismissal for Kindergarten is at 2:40pm. Teachers will bring students to the COLA for dismissal. Students will be expected to sit with their class until they see their parent/caregiver. We ask parents to wait patiently during this time as we ensure all students leave safely. Please do not enter the school COLA and ensure you are physically distancing.
